Our initial final project was a collaboration with the University of Lincoln's Undergraduate Fashion Design Students.
Their final collections were to be shown at a live fashion show within Lincoln City. Arranged, promoted and implemented by the MSc Fashion Management students, with the aim of showcasing the design students and their originality throughout their work to attendees from Industry, the University and other visitors.
The current global crisis caused by Covid-19, has resulted in the Final Show being cancelled.
However, it remains of importance to deliver this project successfully, to promote the hard working design students and their long-awaited final projects, whilst also completing our own MSc courses. Developing our skills and knowledge within event design, management, marketing, consumer relations and problem solving, finding an innovative way how we can make all these elements a success, virtually.
This now leaves us with many question marks as to how we can make this work. The Design students have no mannequins to present their work, we have no access to the University campus, we cannot collaborate in person or assist each other with creative elements. We have been 'thrown in at the deep end' in a way.
Per contra, as creative students, this is a great opportunity to test our strengths and innovations.
